Groovy indie outfit The Northcoast release dazzling single ‘With You’

Hailing from different locations across the north coast of America, The Northcoast’s three members come from New York, New Jersey and Seattle. They are the perfect example of how distance is no barrier to making music and with the aid of technology they have been emailing projects to each other and making music for over 10 years.

“With You” is their latest sparkly single, produced by Tom Lord-Alge, and is the perfect accompaniment to a long road trip or lazing on the grass on a summer’s day.

Each member of the group has played at least three instruments since childhood and this, combined with their multi-cultural backgrounds, has given the group a plethora of musical influences and experience. Combining the pumping beats of Michael Jackson and bass lines of Passion Pit and Chvrches, there really is something for everyone to enjoy.

The Northcoast have realised their childhood dream of both making and performing music. Having made an impact on the stages of Vans Warped Tour and played alongside big names such as Gia Farrell, their future is already looking bright!

Norwegian indie band KMF (Kakkmaddafakka) spearhead their own unique effervescent sound on this summery single ‘Young You’.

The song is a feelgood blend of groovy bass, bouncy pianos and breezy reverb-soaked vocals. You can feel the warm rays of the sun on your face whilst listening to it.

The band hail from the beautiful city of Bergen, where they have grown from a small local group to an internationally recognised act. Their Facebook band page currently has over 150, 000 likes.

Having toured all over the world, KMF regularly play to 5000 fans at their own club shows across the continent and have appeared at and headlined stages at renowned festivals such as Melt! Festival, the Montreux Jazz Festival, Arenal Sound in Spain and Hurricane Festival. With support constantly coming their way, they seem destined to continue onwards and upwards and are not likely to stop until their out the stratosphere.

The group proclaim themselves to be ‘sauna extremists’, having gone so far as to perform naked in a sauna once on Norwegian national news!

Amongst sauna-extremism, the band’s other hobbies include football, gaming and Djing (two of the members Axel and Pål run a popular club concept ‘Klubben’ and a hip hop night in Bergen – proof of a band with eclectic musical tastes).

On May 31^st the band will be playing an exclusive UK show at the prestige O2 Academy Islington.

‘Young You’ is out May 13^th and is set to appear on the group’s upcoming self-titled album KMF set for release June 3^rd.

Texas crooner, Andy Meadows, releases upbeat swing single ‘Never Be The Same’

 ‘Never Be The Same’ is the latest fun upbeat swing single from rising Texas artist Andy Meadows set to appear on his upcoming album Modern Day Crooner.

Accompanied by a vibrant 9 piece band, Andy delivers a swanky crooning voice powerful enough to compete with the likes of Harry Connick Jr., Michael Buble and Frank Sinatra. Steel guitar and fiddles meanwhile add a country vibe that harks back to Andy’s roots.

Lyrically, the song centres around being love-struck.

Andy explains the inspiration behind it: ‘I fell in love with the new girl at work and it had been years since I’d felt that way and I’d forgotten how wonderful and terrible falling in love can be, the sleepless nights the anticipation of a phone call or text, then analyzing what each text really means and how quickly or slowly you should respond, wondering if you should kiss her or shouldn’t kiss her, trying to play it cool when you see her even though it’s probably obvious that you’re madly in love with her. You know, the usual stuff.’

 

Growing up in a country radio station owned by his father, the singer developed his interest in music at an early age. He started writing songs at the age of 16 and originally had plans to pursue a career as an opera singer winning his way into Texas Tech University as a vocal performance major. However, knowing opera wasn’t his real passion, he later transferred to South Plains College to study commercial music.

 

Andy is 6ft5in tall and was recently invited to the Dallas Tall People’s Club. ‘I never went but I find it really odd that there’s a club made up of people and the only thing they have in common is that they’re all tall. I guess they just sit around and talk about where they buy their pants.’

Andrea Di Giovanni releases atmospheric new electropop single ‘I’ll Take Care of Myself’

21-year-old Italian-born singer, Andrea Giovanni, is set to release atmospheric new electropop song, ‘I’ll Take Care of Myself’, set to drop April 15th. Taking influence vocally from Sam Smith and Jess Glynne, the artist delivers a soaring vocal performance that has the potential to appeal both to underground fans and the masses. Marco Casaluce produces the instrumental, opening with brooding synth swells before erupting with some hard-hitting bass.

Raised in Rome, Andrea moved to the UK in 2013 to pursue his dreams as a singer. A sufferer of the rare skin condition vitiligo, Andrea was bullied in the youth for the affliction putting him in a very dark place. His strict Catholic upbringing also made it hard for him to openly come to terms with his bixesuality. Moving to the UK, he was able to finally find acceptance, learning to embrace them as strengths instead of weaknesses.

As he explains himself, ‘I started to see vitiligo as my edge and distinctive characteristic of my personality, a strength. I decided to show it in the covert art-work of the single, ‘taking care of myself’ means also the ability to transform what you’ve always considered weaknesses into beautiful strengths.’

Andrea also has an EP ‘Soultrip’ on the way scheduled for release in July.

‘I love good wholesome music and am very aware of how music can help you to motivate and uplift,’ explains the singer.  ‘In the current climate with so much negativity in the world it is very easy to be bombarded with negative images and messages continuously. Sometimes it is good to focus on the positive side and also positive messages so that we can remember it is not all doom and gloom.’

A devout Christian, Challan invited 10 local children from his church to sing on the track’s chorus. Ideals of humanity and philanthropy play a major part in his lyrics, themes that are applicable not just to his own faith but to people from all walks of life.

Challan takes influence from artists such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston and Billy Ocean. As well as singing, he has long had a keen interest in dance, self-teaching himself as a child from watching Michael Jackson videos and streetdance. In 1988, he was lucky enough to get front row tickets to King of Pop’s BAD concert, a surprise gift from his au-pair.

Unafraid to challenge himself, Challan joined the Territorial army in his twenties, having a desire to push himself both physically and mentally. Around the same time he also got involved with artist tour management.

Having worked behind the scenes in the music industry for many years supporting artists such as KC Da Rookee and Ben from Phats and Smalls, Challan is now ready to carve a music career of his own.

The artist has worked with multiple producers including notable names such as Blaze Billions, Paul Nza, Lars Mellow and Klimper Boy. He is currently performing at schools across the UK as part of his Step by Step UK nationwide Schools Tour.

The Nottingham Post has described him as ‘Nottingham’s next MC Hammer’.

An album has been recorded in Germany and will be out soon.

Shannon K hoping to ‘Lose Control’ This Summer!

With ‘Lose Yourself’, Shannon K continues to mark herself out as one of the most versatile young artists on the independent scene today. Previous singles such as anti-drugs tune ‘Just Say No’ and the festive track ‘Christmas Song’ first marked her out as a talented vocalist, but with this year’s quick  punch of ‘Just Another Boy’, ‘MOM’ (released on Mother’s Day, lyrics by Brian Bogdanovic) which is an emotional track that really showcases Shannon’s vocal ability,  and now ‘Lose Control’, she is showing herself to be a real contender.

The quality of her songs, which was there from the very beginning, only improves with each single release. It should come as no surprise to learn that she grew up with a parent who knows what it takes to make it in the music industry.

A glittering career as a vocalist in Bollywood has seen her father Kumar Sanu win a total of 69 awards including 64 in his native India (from Filmfare, Zee Cine, Kishore Kumarand more) plus 5 internationally (from Sunrise Radio-London, West Indian Academy, Grammy-West Indies, Bollywood Music-U.S.A. and Radio Lotus-South Africa).

Crazy Fenton making some noise with ‘Cool Ella’ single

Rock single to be released on June 22^nd, with a full album to follow July 13th

‘Cool Ella’ is one hell of a way to come out fighting, and with the follow up album due a couple of weeks later on July 13^th, you will be hearing a lot more of Crazy Fenton in 2015. The album, produced by British EDM trailblazer Alex Banks (EZ Rollers), is the kind of release which will have the music industry on high alert with its raw song writing and production values.

With lyrics inspired – in Clive Aliker’s own words – by ‘deaths,mental failings,and a complete inability to understand the female species’, these are songs that listeners can’t fail to relate to.

And in ‘Cool Ella’, Crazy Fenton has picked out one hell of an entrance.

Having worked with renowned producer Dave Allen (The Cure, Human League, Chameleons) to arrive at an energetic studio style, the new single ‘Cool Ella’ is set for release on June 22^nd. High energy and built on a foundation of distorted guitars and pounding drums, this is one for fans of the classics.

A welcome throwback to the golden ages of punk and rock, Crazy Fenton is the musical brainchild of songwriter Clive Aliker – a Norfolk based artist who is a big fan of making a good old fashioned ruckus. With influences from 60s garage rock and 70s punk all the way through to the modern day, Crazy Fenton is the work of a veteran musician who certainly knows how to rattle out a top tune.

BowLDN new single ‘Survivor’

The latest example of his unusual sound is his track ‘Survivor’, a fittingly named single about overcoming adversity to make a better life for yourself – a subject with which BowLDN has a lot of experience.

Diagnosed with learning difficulties at a relatively late stage in his schooling, BowLDN was initially told by his mainstream school that he wouldn’t pass his GCSE exams. Taking the decision to leave behind a school who had lost faith, he studied for his GCSEs at a YMCA training school, eventually passing each subject and specialising in music.

Moving on to college, he once again found himself lost in the shuffle, and getting in with the wrong crowd. A scrape with the law left him sentenced to one year’s probation and 30 hours community service.

Encouraged as part of his sentence to join a drama group called Bare Truths, BowLDN met a supportive group of people who allowed him to express himself creatively for perhaps the first time. Once his sentence was up, and he was no longer required to attend the group, he continued anyway – learning with each session and honing his creative outlet.

The next step is the release of ‘Survivor’ on June 22nd. From there – who knows?

Forming in late 2014 the band have gone from strength to strength, gaining a large amount of coverage from multiple online blogs. The singer and lead guitarist, James, has worked as a sub-editor for Mixmag and has been published in The Guardian, The Telegraph and The Independent.

Alan, bassist and producer, has worked in music his entire life. He has been a session player for bands such as Freaky Realistic (Polydor), Mint Royale (Sony), and H Boogie (Island Rec). Alan also has his own studio in West London, where he records, produces and mixes for multiple bands. In the past he has worked with artists such as Mint Royale, Wolf Alice and Charlie XCX. The band has also received support from BBC Radio 6 host Tom Robinson who has played them a few times on his radio show. The new album has been mixed by Al Riley, who has worked with a great many highly influential artists including Coldcut, Tricky, The Maccabees and U2.

All This Noise’s sound has been compared to that of The Cure, Radiohead and Depeche Mode. The band are starting to put their own stamp on alternative rock, with cleverly written lyrics taking us into the mind of the band, a rarity in modern music. The single has a very original sound – relaxed with a slightly haunting twist – and they manage to cross multiple genres seamlessly.
